Kristin Hardie to Coach Elite Youth Ultimate 2007

Kristin Hardie has returned to the youth club championship coaching staff for Colorado Women for the 2007 season. Due to Hardietown travel restrictions, Coach Hardie will not be available for the actual tournament, but has committed every Sat. morning and most Wednesday evenings between June and August to helping the women's squad prepare. The Club Championships will be held in Blaine, MN on August 11-12. This is Colorado's second invite to the YCC and the first year a mixed division team will participate under the guidance of veteran coaches Phil Lohre and Marley Steele-Inama. Mayor Tom Hardie to get Muddy with a Buddy
Mayor Hardie will be participating in the Boulder Muddy Buddy race on August 19, 2007 with Prime Minister Marley Steele-Inama from Willowsdale. The race features a 6-7 mile course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike, and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together!For more information go to Muddy Buddy

Waste Management Prepares for Crapstorm
Hardietown Waste Management is preparing a stragegic plan for dealing with a crapstorm that is predicted to hit approximately August 9th. Coincidentally, this is the same approximate timing for the expected Alien landing. Many possible receptacles are being evaluated to temporarily and permanently hold the volume of crap. Factors for evaluation include environemental impacts, economic justification, and the level of training and skills of the two current waste management staff members.

Town Purchases New City Vehicle
The Hardie Town finance committee allocated budget toward a new mode of transportation for the community. After much debate, the committee purchased a black 2006 Honda CR-V. The vehicle is affectionately nicknamed "Ozzy". The purpose of the vehicle is to provide transportation when the current community vehicles are retired. Currently in the fleet are "Leroy","Moby", and "Meduim Brown". Medium Brown is the first vehicle to retire. Hardie Town officials will be donating this 1986 Honda Accord to Colorado Public Radio post haste to collect a tax break for resident in this fiscal year...

Hail Storm Hits Boulder and Delays Wedding
The City of Boulder was hit by a hailstorm approximately 6pm on Saturday, June 24th. Golf ball sized hail came out of an ominous blanket of dark clouds pelting the city officials new vehicle. Quick evasive action involving a u-turn on Broadway and ducking into a Texaco with a carportesque area allowed the city officials to wait out the storm. Luckily the vehicle was not damaged. The officials were on the way to a wedding ceremony for Sara Gravelin and Kyle Weisbrod at Flagstaff Ampitheater. The wedding was delayed half an hour. After shovelling the melting snow away, the wedding proceeded with only a few minor rain drops. The reception was held at the Spice of Life event center. Storm Video...
